Letter from the CNI, Collectives, Organizations, Movements, from Mexico and the World and the Zapatistas to the Searching Families in Jalisco
To the searching mothers, fathers and families in Jalisco and throughout the country,
To all those who search for those we are missingย
From the color of the Earth that we are, the National Indigenous Congress and the Zapatista Army of National Liberation, together with the organizations, collectives, and individuals who have decided to sign this letter, with pain and rage, we join in the mourning that fills the countryside and cities for the more than 124,000 disappeared people. And with respect, we address all those who tirelessly search amidst death for those hidden from us by the criminal power that governs this country.
We address those who do not seek permission to exist, because their existence is resistance. They do not ask for forgiveness for searching, because in their search lies the truth that the system wants to hide, because we face an enemy that not only wants our lives, but also our future.
We repudiate the campaign of discrediting and criminalization waged jointly by corrupt governments and criminal groups against searching mothers, fathers, and families; a campaign aimed at creating conditions for repression by governments or their narco-paramilitaries, capable of generating crimes against humanity such as the horror of the clandestine crematorium in Teuchitlรกn, Jalisco. Call it what you will and try to justify it by criminalizing the victims, it is an extermination center serving capital, the same capital supported and protected by those who claim to govern this country. We indignantly observe how this strategy of discrediting and criminalization is similar to the one the military and the federal government have practiced in previous years against the mothers and fathers of the Ayotzinapa 43 and their advisorsโanother living wound, another hell unleashed by this narco-state.
We, the people, see how criminal cartels and their armed groups, notably the Jalisco New Generation Cartel, are protected by governments. They are granted impunity and support through prosecutorsโ offices, judges, and public security forces, including the military. And these cartels are also the land invaders, the mine guards, the wind farm, the ones who sell the peopleโs water, the ones who carry out public works and administer municipalities, regions, and entire states, the ones who opt for the privatization of land and decide prices for it, the ones who divide and confront our communities, the ones who flood Indigenous territories with drugs, the ones who steal precious woods, the ones who manage and operate human trafficking, the foremen of slave labor in maquiladoras and agroindustries, the ones who make the death of children and young people their expansion strategy.
The violence we are experiencing today to make possible all that the so-called leftist government calls development, Fourth Ts or Four Letters*, we have only experienced in the bloody wars we have survived. The mercenaries in the service of capitalism advance, imposing a world governed by money and death. The extermination camps, the paramilitaries, the armed forces, and the police forces are all part of the same machinery that dispossesses, murders, and disappears.
In the face of this hell, and in the name of those we are missing, in the name of the dignity and courage taught to us by the collectives of mothers, fathers, and families in search of refuge, we raise our voices and our memories, holding the Mexican State, its institutions, and the capitalist interests that sustain it accountable for any harm to the searching mothers, fathers, and families. Their struggle is our struggle, because within it lies the defense of life, land, and the autonomy that are the root of collective hope.
Sisters and brothers of the searching families, of the tireless collectives of mothers and fathers:
We are indigenous peoples who inhabit the land that bleeds.
We listen to the wind that cries out its pain and honor the candleโs flame that, with hope, never goes out, drawing the names of those taken.
Because those who search are not silence, they are seeds.
They are not tears, they are memory.
They are not defeat, they are the horizon.
Because in every step, in every cry, in every hand that joins, a sacred world is born, transforming mourning into struggle and building, from below, truth and justice.
We call on indigenous peoples, communities in resistance, and conscious society to raise their voices and their memories, issuing statements, holding actions, murals, ceremonies, and words that demand justice. Because in the memory of our disappeared lies the seed of a new world, where capital does not govern, where life is worth more than money, and where we as people flourish freely.
For those who are no longer here, for those who are searching, for those who resist!
They took them alive, we want them back alive!
For the complete reconstruction of our peoples!
Never again a Mexico without us!

Illinois Democratic Governor J.B. Pritzker revealed during a speech this week that he clashed with President Donald Trump during the first Trump administration after Trump promised necessary medical equipment during the COVID pandemic on the condition that Pritzker praise him publicly.
Wowww
Let's make sure we convert outrage over narcissist hypocrisy into action to get rid of this president.

and around the same time, Andre Breton came to Mexico City, where they composed a manifesto for #art against fascism, capitalism, and Stalinism : https://www.marxists.org/subject/art/lit_crit/works/rivera/manifesto.htm
(and neither Frida nor Trotsky signed it; it's attributed to Trotsky and Breton, but it was Rivera and Breton whose names are on it)
and it's a glorious document that Breton took back to Europe to open chapters of the International Federation of Independent Revolutionary Art <https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Manifesto_for_an_Independent_Revolutionary_Art>
but it didn't last very long.
In the spirit of continuous revolution, is it time for the Next International Federation of Independent Revolutionary Art ?
