As a longtime practitioner, scholar, and teacher of #Buddhism I can only say that "engaged Buddhism" usually means attending to folks like @DAIR .

About — Buddhism & AI Initiative

@yetiinabox @DAIR The harm done by AI today to the planet and animals (human and otherwise) makes it IMV incompatible with Buddhism.

However there are other investigations that may not be as bad as per this @buddhistdoor article (and refs at the bottom): https://www.buddhistdoor.net/news/kyoto-university-researchers-introduce-ai-powered-buddharoid-to-address-japans-aging-clergy/

Hiti

हिति , in Nepāl Bhāṣā, is the word for a shared community water tap. Even in modern Newar cities, these ancient structures still pour out fresh mountain water piped through ancient underground filters and conduits. They are a place to wash, to talk, to drink, to meet the locals: a nourishing, refreshing social-ecological place.
