I have seen very little significant innovation among large US corporations the last 20-25 years or so.
Their growth in size and revenues(ie now monopolies) has turned them into ossified companies, fully dedicated to protecting profit margins and stock prices with monopolistic tactics .

I've been victim of an AI blunder few years ago. Asking for a broadband quote, the chatbot signed me for a contract and booked the engineers to upgrade to fibre because I typed "that's a good offer". It was all done before I.could type the second sentence: "but another company made a better offer". It took days for it to be resolved, hours on the phone.
