@georgetakei
We can probably blame what is known as "bad 70s hair" on the lingering and deep-seated reaction to adults and authority figures taking a vociferously hard line against longer hair on boys in the 1960s. Fashion got mutated into a generational badge. More seriously, Republicans are control freaks who try to impose their intolerant standards on all others. This is more likely to provoke a backlash than compliance.

Hello Mr. Takei.
I logged into this website on a whim for once in my life, and my feed was filled with your activity. I wonder if it is automated, or if you simply have plenty of time on your hands to speak publicly.

Either way, I think we are all falling victim to a common propaganda/anti-propaganda dialectic that forces you to be for-or-against something, when in reality, it is all pomp-and-circumstance for a government which frankly has no meaningful power over the people aside from its policing and tax policies.

It is important to liberate our minds from this, lest we become a part of its machine via subscribing to its newsbase, and reposting/reflecting on their depravity.

I would ask, though you may have a duty as a public figure to defend those you represent, is it not more worthy to be an island of peace? The poltical spheres cannot be changed without direct action, which many seem unwilling to do - maybe they know: play stupid games, win stupid prizes.

How can we extract ourselves from their grasp?

I really would enjoy recipes, but not willful ignorance, of course.

Cheers,
V

@georgetakei for a bunch of dudes that claim to love freedom and liberty they're sure in a hurry to submit to the will of the mayor of that town in footloose in exchange for everyone else being forced to live inside their boring-ass town with them so we can all admire their mediocrity and willful ignorance.
