@kkarhan fwiw, I didn't content warn my Iran conflict posts yesterday, as it was such major news, also as most of the posts were short and putting anything meaningful in the CW field would've been about the same length and content as the post itself. And they all had hashtags with terms that could be muted.

From today I'm content-warning them.

@tokyo_0 personally I think people should do it with their accounts as they like it, following the rules of their instances.

  • Some mandate certain topics to be #CW'd - ranging from #NSFW to #USpol - whilst others are "As long as it won't get the admin swatted, we're cool! Just don't d0x/swat people or upload copyrighted/CSAM content!" - lenient.

    • In the end the #Fediverse does get it's strengh by said diversity of rules and people…

And that's certainly better than #AntisocialMedia that are prudish and just a pain in the ass to deal with…

Hiti

हिति , in Nepāl Bhāṣā, is the word for a shared community water tap. Even in modern Newar cities, these ancient structures still pour out fresh mountain water piped through ancient underground filters and conduits. They are a place to wash, to talk, to drink, to meet the locals: a nourishing, refreshing social-ecological place.
