Example 1000 of things that artists were actually paid for in the past.

Edd Cartier's fun little art for a new address form in Astounding. Here the February 1952 issue.

"MOVING? Going to have a new address? We can't send your regular Astounding SCIENCE FICTION along if you don't warn us ahead of time. If you're going to move, let us know six weeks in advance. Otherwise you'll have a neglected mailbox! Astronaut waits in front of an empty mailbox. An alien looks at them from around the other side of a small moon.

Astounding vol. 52, no. 3 (November 1953)

I don't really get the sci-fi/fantasy content here, but maybe I don't know enough about architecture. Are those buildings buildings which existed in 1953 or futuristic concepts?

We see the view from a building, looking out onto a harbour, possibly New York? There are old-fashioned buildings in the foreground and a modern skyscraper and assymetrical building with a dome a bit further away.
Astounding Stories magazine cover from 1953.

Science Fiction Stories vol. 5, no. 4 (January 1955)

“Oh the humanity!” is presumably what he's yelling, or reasonable fascimile thereof. That red presumably-a-microphone thing is distracting. It's a weird shape and weirdly prominent.

A man in a space suit is yelling into the inbuilt mic as a rocket ship explodes violently during takeoff/landing in the background. Multiple other figures in the distance are being blown over by the shockwave of the rocket's explosion.

Hiti

हिति , in Nepāl Bhāṣā, is the word for a shared community water tap. Even in modern Newar cities, these ancient structures still pour out fresh mountain water piped through ancient underground filters and conduits. They are a place to wash, to talk, to drink, to meet the locals: a nourishing, refreshing social-ecological place.
