If your children quarrel, as they might, may they nonetheless always keep talking to each other. Whatever horrors we parents might devise in the drawn-out horrors of divorce, it is never right to encourage children to sever their mutual bonds and turn away from each other. Long after we have abandoned our arrogance to fire and worms, they will need each other. If either parent loses sight of that in our haste to be justified and vengeful, there is very little the other can do to stop a terrible wound being inflicted on the people we should love most carefully at such a grim time.

Hiti

हिति , in Nepāl Bhāṣā, is the word for a shared community water tap. Even in modern Newar cities, these ancient structures still pour out fresh mountain water piped through ancient underground filters and conduits. They are a place to wash, to talk, to drink, to meet the locals: a nourishing, refreshing social-ecological place.
