@georgetakei

We didn't come to this quickly. Our nation was used as a guide star for fascists before WWII. We also helped many Nazis flee and hide at the end of WWII, only to call them up when the CIA wanted to coup a country.

We didn't defeat the fascists but turned them into subcontractors. Now, those chickens have come home to roost.

@georgetakei As a Canadian I feel it has become dangerous to travel to the US.

Sadly, I have not visited your beautiful country in the last 12 years, except once in 2017 for a scientific expedition - the solar eclipse.

And even then I did not bring my cell phone by fear of having it confiscated or used to incriminate me or my contacts.

@georgetakei For Germany at least, it is not a warning, but an advice, which is a notable difference.

That said, I'm glad for my expat colleague that he just recently visited his sister in the US.

At this point I would be quite concerned, that he would be disappeared, when entering the US.

@georgetakei Recently my partner and I decided it would be a bad idea for us to even visit other countries and leave the US despite being citizens, as I wouldn't put it beyond this administration to question any non-white citizen who born outside the US.

Especially since we have a pre-schooler.
