So they will seize upon any excuse to shut down these institutions that, from a political perspective, are just strongholds of the enemy churning out dem-leaning voters.

You will only be met with moving goalposts. But each time you preemptively comply, you're laying the groundwork for worse and not just to others but to yourself. At least the university could have said that they were on the right side of history. At least they could have said they were fighting back. But that's not what they did. They harassed their students and still didn't satisfy the fascists.
