Lower and middle class consumers spend a far higher percentage of disposable income buying basic items. This isn't hard to understand, but our USTR doesn't seem to.

@georgetakei The key phrase is “higher percentage of income on basic needs”, ie food, shelter, utilities. Some one making $30k spends a higher percentage on basic needs than those making $400k.
