In case you thought they just meant undocumented immigrants…
@georgetakei The majority of our territory was inhabited by non-white and/or non-English-speaking people when we acquired it.* In what sense are these people un-American? In what sense are white Europeans the "heritage Americans"?
* - I am leaving out Native Americans, whose stories are the worst of all groups, only because DHS isn't targeting them.
@georgetakei 1848 - Texas, New Mexico, Arizona, California, Utah, Colorado, Nevada taken from Mexico. Lots of Mexicans living there, obviously.
1898 - Puerto Rico purchased from Spain. Spanish and African people already there.
@georgetakei This is why we need good, free, public education:
1619 - First Africans brought to British part of North America AGAINST THEIR WILL
1776 - United States founded
1803 - Louisiana Purchase. Lots of Spanish, Mexican, African people already there.
1808 - U.S. bans importation of enslaved Africans, 200 years after it began.
1819 - Florida purchased from Spain. Spanish, Mexican, African people already there.
@georgetakei Glad to find picture credit via comments thread - pop art from Hiroshi Nagai. Clearly used with no understanding of irony or satire (as per Musk and the Hitch-Hiker's Guide to the Galaxy)

@georgetakei They need to stop this disgusting and grotesque white supremist dog shit advertising. This extremist organization needs to be shut down.
@georgetakei What about the homeless vets and psychologically challenged? I'll bet it is gonna get nasty.
That's depopulation on a scale of the black death (30% or so) which, ironically may have led to better wages for agricultural workers and lower incomes (rents) for the landed classes.
Is suspect the US economy would never recover.
@georgetakei this must surely be a fake?
@georgetakei If you zoom out from that picture, you see the ruins of a villa, an overgrown highway, a few ragged people in a derelict trailer park scrambling to flee from the tsunami. If you zoom in on the car, you see that the side windows are broken and the tyres blown.
I can imagine a whole ad campaign with this slogen. For example, the Planet of the Apes iconic image.
@georgetakei why is there a tsunami in the picture?
@georgetakei So they're putting the Christian Dominionist propaganda front and center of the slogan, now. Niiice. ("Deporting the evil foreigners will bring about the Rapture and what's left will be Heaven on Earth" seems to be the theme here.)
@georgetakei Looks.... empty. Almost sterile.
@georgetakei Empty with 70-year-old cars.
@georgetakei Based on the definition of first world, second world and third world, the USA appears to have moved from first world to second world country.
And 100 million deportations would be, what, just under 1/3 of the current population? That's insane.
@georgetakei this looks like the last scene of Planet of Apes. Just not the statue of liberty but a classic US car.
I mean: there are NO people.
And as bonus, it looks like climate change kicks in and sends a tsunami size wave towards the beach.
There is a lot of truth in this photo! An old car powered by fossil fuels. You can see clear water and palm trees that many people will never see because it would be too expensive to be in such a place. You also see no cornfields, no vegetable and fruit plantations, no workers harvesting anything. The only thing you see is a picture of a vacation destination that only the rich can afford. Everyone else has no medical care and lives under Nazi-Trump dictatorship.
@georgetakei looks legit: an old car, not one hotel or other building and in the distance a rising sea level…
@georgetakei They want to outlaw poverty, which they created in the first place - the poor loose every right they had. It is slavery again. Feudalism. Such horrible people, going back in human social development 300 yrs?
@georgetakei Naturally, the artwork is stolen! It’s from Japanese artist Hiroshi Nagai.

Yeah well Gringos can go fuck themselves to hell! nobody wants them or their nation...
@georgetakei Literally depicting a world without people lol
What, the US will face a devastating tidal wave that will wipe out its vintage cars and pineapple shaped trees?
@georgetakei
The peace of a nation not annoyed anymore by tourists and trade with foreign countries. 🙄
@georgetakei Even their fantasy world is dull and repugnant.
🤔 After the deportations, the deluge, looks like. Difficult to completely disagree...
@georgetakei Are they afraid immigrants will try to stop them from driving into a tidal wave?
@georgetakei The peace of a nation with its head firmly up its own ass.
@georgetakei @drahardja also, what part of america looks like that? It’s not the contiguous US, nor hawaii…
@georgetakei this is literally the most racist thing the U.S. Government has ever done. We need to put them all in jail. There will be tribunals.

हिति , in Nepāl Bhāṣā, is the word for a shared community water tap. Even in modern Newar cities, these ancient structures still pour out fresh mountain water piped through ancient underground filters and conduits. They are a place to wash, to talk, to drink, to meet the locals: a nourishing, refreshing social-ecological place.
