Wrong bird, wrong year, wrong country.

Screenshot of an X post from MeidasTouch stating that a photo Trump shared claiming to show a bald eagle killed by a windmill is actually a falcon in Israel from 2017. The image includes two side-by-side photos of a dead bird lying on the ground near wind turbines, with red circles and annotations highlighting dates and sources.

@georgetakei He should remember what a bald eagle looks like!

A bald eagle flaps its wings beside a fat old man who recoils slightly in fright. The eagle is held by a professional handler in khaki attire and gloves. They are inside a high-rise office filled with memorabilia and large windows overlooking a cityscape. The moment captures an unexpected interaction between a powerful bird of prey and a prominent public figure during what appears to be a formal photoshoot.

@georgetakei wait until they hear about how many birds coal plants kill, or even worse buildings like trump tower that are responsible for millions each year.

@georgetakei That bird also doesn't resemble any bald eagle I've seen. Maybe put a sketch of an eagle on Trump's next cognitive test.

@georgetakei

wrong claim as well.

Depending on the area the kill rate of birds by windmills/turbines is 0.1-0.5% of the total human-related bird deaths (cats, glass, power lines causing most fatalities). Birds dying by cats, glass, power lines and windmills/turbines often have unfavorable preconditions of being ill, old (slow/weakened) or injured.

Hiti

हिति , in Nepāl Bhāṣā, is the word for a shared community water tap. Even in modern Newar cities, these ancient structures still pour out fresh mountain water piped through ancient underground filters and conduits. They are a place to wash, to talk, to drink, to meet the locals: a nourishing, refreshing social-ecological place.
