Ah yes, the economic Golden Age of Trump where grandma goes without.
Just give grandma the damned slippers!
@georgetakei
Sounds like advice from the communist party in former Eastern Germany - just as absurd
@georgetakei
Just *don't you dare* say "Happy Holidays" to any of them! 🤪
Nobody open the boxes after unwrapping. They can see what they got and post pictures on social media, but then return the gifts to the stores and get your money back. Make sure grandma doesn't try on the slippers with her wrinkly feet ... or she have to keep them.
Why is the War on Christmas ok when Trump and Fox do it?
Fox going full Scrooge
@georgetakei I’m surprised they recommend getting anyone a gift. You got yours, now they can go get theirs. No handouts. The is the embodiment of the Republican ideal. Oh, and grandma better be the same color as me.
@georgetakei Trump, "Make Hard Candy Christmas Great Again" #USPol #Economy
(For the ref, "Hard Candy Christmas" refers back to a time when families who could not afford much gifted their children with Christmas candy)
"If Donald Trump chooses you it's because you're the most special." Is what she'll be saying next year. The path these folks chose has only one destination.
@georgetakei I mean. Shockingly reasonable take from Fox, considering grandma (and mom and dad) more than likely has a lot more, asset-wise, than I do (or will), etc. Millennials and Gen Z have comparatively little in total assets as compared to Boomers and Gen Z, that's just a fact.
I'd probably still buy grandma some slippers, but I have SOME means to do so that many of my millennial peers don't.
@georgetakei
Normal people buy presents because they care about people..
Fox news hosts though.. It's all based on 'need'. Presumably they don't buy their spouses gifts because they're wealthy enough to buy their own.
@georgetakei Grandma needs a shop-rite gift card so she does’t have to eat cat food.
हिति , in Nepāl Bhāṣā, is the word for a shared community water tap. Even in modern Newar cities, these ancient structures still pour out fresh mountain water piped through ancient underground filters and conduits. They are a place to wash, to talk, to drink, to meet the locals: a nourishing, refreshing social-ecological place.
