“Traditionally” we don’t have a president who acts like a mad king.

A tweet from Brad Polumbo (@brad_polumbo) reads:
“lol I missed that part of the Constitution where it says that you're allowed to do illegal shit if it's really important to you.”
He’s quote-tweeting Aaron Rupar (@atrupar), who wrote:
“Bessent on tariffs: ‘This is one of President Trump's signature policies, and traditionally the Supreme Court does not interfere with a president's signature policy.’”
Below the text is a screenshot from a Fox News segment showing two people in split-screen — one woman on the left and one man on the right — under the chyron:
“THE IMPACT OF TARIFFS ON THE U.S. ECONOMY.”

@georgetakei Don't forget this is the same rocket surgeon (yes, I know I'm mixing metaphors) who thinks that undocumented immigrants are smuggling in cattle. Not exactly the president of MENSA is he?

SCOTUS decided that’s what the constitution said though.. because the originalist thinking

I think it’s safe to say that what they meant by originalist was we can make shit up as much as we want, but insisted publicly that it has something to do with what the founders thought

@georgetakei

That must be why the Republicans have never asked the Supreme Court to overturn any part of Obama's signature healthcare policies.

Oh, wait...

@georgetakei The Supreme Court doesn’t seem to interfere with any of the Mad King’s policies.

Hiti

हिति , in Nepāl Bhāṣā, is the word for a shared community water tap. Even in modern Newar cities, these ancient structures still pour out fresh mountain water piped through ancient underground filters and conduits. They are a place to wash, to talk, to drink, to meet the locals: a nourishing, refreshing social-ecological place.
