The point is: It WAS an existential risk for #musk company BEFORE his #grok was working and WHILE slowing down #competition by #regulations was helping him to improve his company's standing.

NOW, with his #attacks on federal administrations and institutions it's not a threat, but a tool for him to gain more #influence, extract more money from #tax payers and redirect it into his #purse.

@timnitGebru I encountered a lot of this when I was younger and foolish and poking around on the Eleutherai Discord. People in the "AI ethics" channel would tell me point-blank that they believed that the existential risk was so great that saving a few billionaires' lives would be worth condemning the rest of humanity to death, and worrying about AI bias was beside that point.

I'm surprised that you as an #AI and #TESCREAL expert See a discrepancy in this. For the morbid and haughty minds of the #Longtermists line #Elon, there is no discrepancy, IMHO:
