Further delays won't solve the problems with the UK's eVisa scheme.

The sticking plaster of advising migrants to use expired documentation makes the situation worse.

People are being stopped at borders and denied access to services or benefits.

Change is needed.

The eVisa scheme means a migrants' right to be in the UK is checked online everytime they need to prove it.

Without a physical or saved digital proof of status, migrants are exposed to data errors, system crashes and the stability of Internet connections.

There must be an offline version.

The eVisa scheme continues to be beset with problems, causing huge anxiety for people who have the right to be in the UK.

At the start of February, the Home Office admitted that refugee’s travel documents can’t be linked to their eVisa.
