Torry is fighting back: our friends have received legal advice that the land comprising St Fittick’s Park and surrounding wetlands is held as part of the historic Lands of Torry Trust for the benefit of ‘education’ and the ‘poor’.
This means that Aberdeen City Council may not be within their rights to use the land for commercial property. Hopefully the threat of legal action spooks the spineless council enough to delay the destruction of the park. (3/4)

हिति , in Nepāl Bhāṣā, is the word for a shared community water tap. Even in modern Newar cities, these ancient structures still pour out fresh mountain water piped through ancient underground filters and conduits. They are a place to wash, to talk, to drink, to meet the locals: a nourishing, refreshing social-ecological place.
